Couples Counseling FAQ

How long should this take?

The purpose of marriage counseling is support in difficult seasons and education on proven tools to improve the relationship.  Our goal is to equip you to navigate current and future marital road bumps within the structure of your marriage. For some this make take just a few sessions where with other couples we may recommend extended therapy to address deep seated issues.

What is the session like?

When beginning the therapeutic relationship, we strive to spend individual time with each person to assist in understanding perspectives.  Primarily we work with partners together and sometimes recommend extended sessions when feasible to assist with productivity and to expedite improvement.

What about secrets?

When in couples counseling, it is important to disclose information that would block intimacy in the relationship.  If information is shared in individual sessions that is important to the marriage counseling, counselors will encourage sharing in the marital sessions.
